- The average worldwide internet penetration reaches 58.4%. North America has the highest rate (89.4%) while Africa has the lowest (39.5%).
- On average, people spend 6 hours surfing the internet daily.
- 37.9% of internet traffic comes from bots.
Country-Specific Internet Usage
- China has almost 750 million active internet users, accounting for 16.7% of the overall online population. India and the USA trail behind in second and third place with 699 and 245 million people.
- Smartphone and tablet users take the most portion of China’s internet usage, which is 98%.
- In terms of internet penetration, Kuwait and Qatar have the highest percentage of all countries — both rating for 99.6%. On the other hand, North Korea has less than 1% of internet penetration in the country.
